Coffe Table No.7 | Walnut

Coffee Table No.7 is crafted from a striking walnut slab distinguished by dramatic feather curl running nearly the entire length of the piece. This rare grain formation creates a flowing, flame-like pattern that shifts with light and depth across the surface, giving the table a sense of movement and natural symmetry.

Several structural inlays were incorporated to preserve and celebrate the character of the slab. Two bowtie inlays appear on the top surface, with two additional bowties reinforcing the slab from below. Within the feathered crotch figure, two carefully shaped patchwork inlays were added to stabilize compromised areas while allowing the surrounding grain to remain visually uninterrupted.

At the far end of the slab, a series of stitching-style inlays span the crotch both above and below the surface. Rather than serving as structural repairs, these inlays were introduced to bridge the opening and increase the usable surface area of the table while maintaining the natural geometry of the slab.

The slab rests on a sculptural black metal base with intersecting angled legs that provide a strong architectural contrast to the organic form of the walnut, grounding the piece while allowing the dramatic figure of the slab to remain the focal point.
